Wilson Blade 104 is the preferred racquet of Serena Williams and Venue Williams. This is an incredible racquet from Wilson and really shows the advancement in racquet technology. It weighs only 10.7 ounces and has a 104 square inch head size. It is a versatile racquet well suited for intermediate players, but as the Williams sisters are proving, also a powerful weapon on the WTA tour. The frame is very flexible with a stiffness rating at 60, which ensures that arm fatigue is probably not going to be an excuse you can use when losing. The 5 points head light balance provides lots of control at the net and maneuverability is high. The tradeoff is a little less power from the baseline, however that is counteracted by several of its other features including extending the racquet to 27.5 inches. It is obvious from watching Serena Williams that a fast swing translates into lots of pace and also a good amount of top spin, even though the string pattern is 18 mains and 19 crosses. Wilson has really found a good balance between power and control in the Wilson Blade 104.
Inside the frame is the BLX technology to help reduce vibrations and Amplifeel can be found in the handle for a better and more comfortable grip than a standard grip.
